A 72 hectare oceanfront park. There are a lake with a boat renting service, an amusement park with a Ferris wheel, tennis courts, a museum of ocean science, etc, so is a good place for family leisure.

Karasen Sun Beach Karasen Sun Beach
A shallow beach on the south of Kaihin Seaside Park. You can enjoy seashell-digging in Spring, swimming in Summer, and goby & sand borer fishing in Autumn.

Ako Castle Ruin Ako Castle Ruin

One of government-designated digs at ruins in Japan. The weapons and calligraphic works & paintings related to Famous "Chushingura" 47 Samurais are exhibited in Ohishi Shrine in the Castle inner city.

Tabuchi Memorial Hall Tabuchi Memorial Hall

Banu Tabuchi is a local worthy who has been a salter & a salt wholesaler since Edo era in Ako. Fine arts and ancient documents donated by them are exhibited, including national important tea things.

Sea products of Ako:
Strong current of Seto Inland Sea makes fish firm and very tasty. Please try Ako's fresh sea bream, halibut, sea bass, rock fish, horse mackerel, and conger eel, etc.

Souvenir of Ako:
Broiled conger eel, boiled sand lance, steamed sea bream, salt taste steamed bun, Ako salt, and dried shrimp, etc.

Tabuchi GardenTabuchi Garden
A beautiful garden with atmosphere of Japanese tea spirits everywhere, made by Banu Tabuchi in Edo era who was the biggest salt firm owner in Japan. It consists of "Meienrou", "Shuninsai", and "Shoin" and is a government-designated scenic beauty. It is opened to public only in Autumn, but also holds special open days to the hotel's guests in Spring & Autumn.
